The  GPS module is in a compact 22mm x 22mm (.86" X .86")  form factor (including on-module antenna) allowing it to be used in many wireless applications requiring low power and very small spaces. The module  contains a connector which allows the use of an external active antenna. Switching to the external antenna is automatic when external antenna is applied.

The GPS module can be added to the WiWIZ1 or DASH7  board as an option. It is connected to the application processor using the asynchronous interface.  The unit will provide all of the standard GPS NMEA data and will also supply a clock with an accuracy of between 300-600 nanoseconds. The clock pulse signal is connected to the microprocessor and if enabled, will deliver an interrupt to the microprocessor with a precision of 300-600 nanoseconds.

This unit will work indoors. WiHART Systems has performed experiments from indoor locations. Contact factory for discussion of indoor operations.
